Fight instruction at UofL, Canada

I love working with young people to build the magic and imagination that go into shows for young people.

After graduating from the University of Victoria in British Columbia, Canada in 2005, I co-created the Sandbox Children’s Theatre, a touring educational theatre company. We created 50 minute musicals based on the grade 1-6 Social Studies curriculum, and took them into schools for audiences of children aged 5-12.

At the National Festival of Youth Theatre I had the chance to work with 14 – 20 year old students from around Europe as arts workshop facilitator teaching stage combat at the Glenrothes Art Centre. I have also taught classes for The Beacon Art Centre, Ambassador Theatre Group, and The Royal Conservatoire of Scotland.

I was Invited to return to Canada in 2013 to work as international instructor and Guest Artist at the University of Lethbridge. Working with the university students, I ran a week-long programme of stage combat fundamentals and choreography as part of the Department of Theatre and Dramatic Arts’ Visiting Artists Series.

Fully CRB checked, I am qualified to teach adults and children. I create programmes specifically for each group but, whatever the level or experience of the students, my aim is the same: to share the joy of drama in a creative - and safe - working environment.
